At Nexia’s international conference, held this year in Singapore, Nexia Georgia was named the winner of the prestigious “Firm of the Year” award – chosen from among more than 800 offices in the global network. Remarkably, the Georgian office remains the only firm in the network to have received this highest honour twice.
The award recognises member firms that make an exceptional contribution to the development of the Nexia network, maintain a strong position in their local markets, and consistently create new opportunities for business.
David Lomidze, Managing Partner of Nexia Georgia, reflected:
“2024 was, without a doubt, a landmark year for Nexia Georgia. We celebrated our 10th anniversary by ranking among the top five firms in Georgia and, as the fastest-growing audit firm in the EMEA region, proved once again that our strategy is built on sustainable growth. Official figures show that Nexia Georgia has moved up another place in the ranking of international audit firms, with revenue reaching GEL 12.2 million. We also expect double-digit growth in 2024, which could shift our ranking even further.”
This year’s judging criteria placed special emphasis on collaboration, sharing expertise and innovative ideas with other member firms — particularly through Nexia’s meetings and conferences.
Gela Mghebrishvili, Managing Partner of Nexia Georgia, added:
“Alongside our local market leadership and ongoing development, our office plays an active role in the network’s activities. Personally, I was honoured to be elected to the EMEA Board at Nexia’s Annual General Meeting in Buenos Aires. This position has opened more opportunities for knowledge sharing across the network. With our support, Nexia has welcomed a new member in Uzbekistan, and we are currently in discussions with Turkmenistan to conduct bank audits — an area where our firm has considerable expertise.
We have also received requests from Tajikistan for training in digital solutions, particularly Power BI, and are in talks with Kazakhstan to expand their service offerings. Being approached as a trusted advisor by peers across the region is a great motivation for us to continue sharing our experience and strengthening the Georgian office’s role in addressing network-wide challenges.”
Nexia Georgia is one of the largest employers in Georgia’s audit sector and has been recognised multiple times as an outstanding employer — both by government agencies and at prestigious business awards, including winning the “Responsible Employer” category at Georgia’s “Meliora” Responsible Business Awards.
Boris Megrelishvili, Managing Partner of Nexia Georgia, noted:
“2024 also marked a record year for growth in our team. We now employ 250 professionals. For many accountants, auditors and finance specialists, working at Nexia is seen as highly prestigious. With team growth comes the responsibility to provide a comfortable work environment. This year we made a significant investment in expanding our operations, moving into a new office in one of Georgia’s most recognisable business centres — King David.
Our new office was designed not only with employee comfort in mind but also to support our educational mission. Nexia Academy, our in-house training centre and a leading institution for audit training, has expanded its facilities and is now equipped with cutting-edge technology, enabling interactive seminars, advanced training sessions and the integration of modern technology into our daily work.”
Today, Nexia Georgia is the market leader in outsourced accounting services. With international-quality standards, a highly qualified team and technology-driven solutions, our accounting division continues to grow year after year. The department now comprises over 100 professional accountants serving more than 300 clients across large, medium and small businesses.
Gela Mghebrishvili added:
“We have the largest tax team of any audit firm in Georgia — with around 50 professionals — and are the only firm in the country with dedicated departments for transfer pricing and outsourced CFO services. Notably, our CFO outsourcing team has grown from 4 to 15 members in just one year.”
A key milestone in 2024 was Nexia Georgia’s achievement in cybersecurity. The firm became the first in both the audit and financial sectors — not only in Georgia but in the wider region — to implement and certify the latest 2022 version of ISO 27001, the leading international standard for information security. In Georgia, fewer than 20 organizations have obtained this certification, including only two public sector institutions.
David Lomidze concluded:
“To sum up, 2024 was a year of innovation, new projects, milestone anniversaries, major conferences and significant achievements. I want to take this opportunity to thank our incredible team, clients, partners and supporters for their trust and contribution to our success. We remain committed to growth and to living up to the Nexia network’s guiding message – Moving Forward.”
